We’re pleased to share some exciting news about a fundraising program for our organization. It’s called “scrip”, and it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop.
Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our Scrip program including Lands End, JCPenney, ACE Hardware, Shell, BP, Subway, Wal-mart, Pizza Hut, Hardee’s, China Pearl, El Arado, Wally’s, Dairy King, Carlyle, and Trenton IGA, Pizza Market, Knotty Pine, and many, many others.
You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple — scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting because everybody wins:
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.
One more bonus for you is that All Saints Academy will split their revenue with your child’s tuition. At the end of the school year, you will be given a report on how much credit your child will receive toward his/her last tuition payment. (For example, if you eat at Wally’s every Saturday then you could buy a $100 Wally’s gift certificate through ASA to pay for your whole month of eating at Wally’s. Wally’s will donate 20% back to the school. SO…ASA will only pay $80.00 for the certificate but you will pay the $100 for it and will receive the $100 certificate. The $20.00 that the school profit from this order will go $10.00 to the school and $10.00 back to your child’s tuition credit.) Every retailer has its own percentage that they donate.
To get started go to shopwithscrip.com and click on “Create Account.” Follow the four simple steps and click “I Accept.” Enter your enrollment code and click “Join.” To obtain the enrollment code, please contact Chelsey Pollmann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once you place an order, you will be asked how you want to pay for them. You have two options; you can pay by PrestoPay and give them your account number or enclose in an envelope a check written out to “ASA SCRIP” and send it along with your child to school. Address the envelope to the attention of “SCRIP-Chelsey Pollmann”. When I receive the cards, I will put them in an envelope and send them home with your child unless you specify a different method.
I will have on hand the most popular cards (Wal-mart, BP, Shell, the local stores, and a few more) so you can always send me an email or call me if you are wanting a card within 24 hours.
The ASA scrip program promises to be a simple and effective fundraising program. Thanks for your support!
